Enterprise Green Communities Checklist (2011)
Revised in 2011, the Green Communities Checklist contains the criteria of Green Communities rating program, but in a checklist form. This checklist also serves to demonstrate the aligned missions of Green Communities and LEED
for homes credit. Even if one is not trying to obtain a rating from Green Communities this checklist serves as an excellent source for ideas on sustainable development.
Families significantly below the poverty level have been shown to spend as much as 19% of their income on utility bills, while in some areas of the United States as many as 25% of evictions of low-income renters were due to inability to pay utility bills, which is why incorporating sustainable design elements into affordable housing is so critical.
