Energy Efficiency Grants
Eligibility: 

The Foundation provides funding to federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and state and local government agencies serving Illinois residents. The Foundation will not provide funding for remediation of environmentally impaired properties, technology research, promotion of proprietary products, reoccurring operation costs, political campaigns or lobbying, capital campaigns or support for an organization's endowment or projects undertaken by individuals. Use: 

Through its Energy Efficiency Program, the Foundation supports nonprofit organizations and local governments in their efforts to reduce energy consumption in buildings. By reducing energy consumption, nonprofits and local governments help the environment and save money.

 

The Foundations Energy Efficiency Program is focused on improvements to lighting and space condition in existing buildings and the "greening" of new construction. Uses include projects involving:

  • Lighting upgrades.
  • Model energy efficient systems.
  • High performance Green buildings.
  • Existing buildings energy efficiency improvements.
