The City of Chicago Department of Enviornment has a wide array of responsibilities and tasks. It is also a great starting point for information for local enviornmental ordinances and policies. Besides that, the Dept. of Enviornment offers a fairly comprehensive list of green building incentives, and runs a number of local programs including the Brownfields Initiative, Green Building, and Green Roofs programs.
