Mayor Emanuel visited CCLF borrower Growing Home on Wednesday to celebrate the kick-off of Growing Home’s Wood Street Farm Stand. The event highlighted the Mayor’s support of the nearly $363 million in public and private investments in Greater Englewood that is transforming the community into one of the nation’s largest urban agriculture districts.
Urban Juncture, Inc. recently sent out a press release to signal the start of construction on their Bronzeville Cookin' project. CCLF closed on construction and permanent financing to Urban Juncture in September 2012 for the development of a two-story commercial building. When complete, Bronzeville Cookin' will feature five individual food venues and create a transit-oriented destination point for casual fine dining in Chicago's Bronzeville community area.
Based on the success of the pilot program for the Green Affordable Housing Training Series, CCLF is excited to continue our partnership with the US Green Building Council (USGBC) - Illinois Chapter and the Alliance for Environmental Sustainability (AES) and welcome a second cohort of participants as they begin Phase 1 of the series.
